Someone gave me a Mitsubishi CS-20101 television recently. It doesn't have the remote for it though. I bought the OFA learning remote and programed in the code for Mitsubishi. The only things I can get it to do with the tv is volume, channel change, and on/off. I tried all the other codes in the manual but only this one worked.
Are there any discrete codes which you can use to access the menu and rest of the televisons features.
The main reason I need it is because the closed caption is on and I would like to find a way to turn it off.

Thanks, Gary

It would help to know which RS remote you have and which code was the only one that worked.

If the remote will accept advanced codes, and the code that worked is 0178, you can go here [Link: hifi-remote.com] and use 025 for closed captioning or 171 for menu.

If the code that worked was 0150, 0019, or 0093, you can substitute these numbers for the "0178" in the link above, go there and see if anything works for you, bit I didn't find anything in these last three that might help.

Thanks Ron, It is not a Radio Shack remote it is the One For All learning. Not sure of the model #, but its the one at Walmart for around $20.
The code that worked is 0150. I tried the codes in the above link, but none worked.
Is there something else I could try?
Thanks Gary

Sorry about the RS/OFA mixup. You probably have the 8810W. Unfortunately Mitsubishi is not user friendly for discrete codes. It is the way they program their components, not the fault of the remotes.

Did you try assigning the 0178 code to the OFA remote, and then pressing the setup plus the 025 code and see what happens?

Sorry. but that's about all the help I can offer.
