I had it for about a year and i am realizing it can be a pain. For many reasons, like batteries die quick, because anything you do pops the lighting on it...
I am looking into the Sony RM-AV3100. It seems nice because you can edit lables...
Does anyone have the Sony RM-AV3100?
Any suggestions?

This is the forum for the AV3100 [Link: remotecentral.com]

Many many people have the 3100.

Here is a bunch of stuff to get you familiar with the 3100. The last link below should be the first one you read, and then continue on with the others as you get more familiar with the 3100.

SYSTEM CONTROL KEYS: Everything you need to know about them

HOW TO LABEL, CHANGE OR HIDE BUTTONS

CHANGING BATTERIES (May not be necessary on RM-AV3100, but why take a chance when it's only 20 seconds?)

AND IF YOU HAVE A SONY RECEIVER:
CHANGING YOUR RECEIVER AND REMOTE TO AV1 (or AV2) COMMAND MODE

AND HERE IS SOME MORE INFO IN CASE THE MANUAL GETS TOO CONFUSING

Ron, thanx for the info....
So it all looks good for this 3100. Do YOU like your 3000???
Would you recomend it?

I like the fact that you can edit keys.
I also like the Harmony 659, where you can set it up from PC. Really torn between the 2...

Leaning more towards the 3100...

Ron

Just FYI, if you like to tinker, you can modify your kameleon so that it doesn't turn on everytime the cat meows, and you can set it up from the PC using JP1.

Read this if you want to know how to modify the motion detector.

For JP1 info, go here:
