(I've searched this Forum for "Polaroid" and no listings yet)
I've got a Polaroid DVC-2000 DVD/VCR Combo and lost the remote. When I went to the store to look for a universal remote, NONE of the 10 that I looked at listed the brand Polaroid AT ALL in the code section.
Also, been told about the DVD/VCR Combo causing problems with universal remotes. I have read several threads in here that says it can be done, but this problem is secondary to the one above.
Any suggestions on a Universal remote with Polaroid code(s)? TIA

I don't know, I would never purchase a combo PERIOD :) But if the code does control the dvd portion of the combo, you might call RS have them send you the advanced codes for setup code 1086.

I have a similar problem. Did you ever find a code that worked? 1086 did not work for my Polariod DVD/VCR combo on the Universal Remote I purchased.

And was this universal remote the RS 15-2142? Or are you pulling remote codes any old remote and thinking they work on all remotes? Which they don't.

Just to be clear, DVD/1086 is a UEI setup code, which means it's designed to work with One For All remotes, and most Radio Shack remotes. If your "universal remote" is some other brand, then this code is irrelevant. What remote do you have? Rob http://www.hifi-remote.com

Tried DVD/1086 code on a UEI remote from Time Warner and no go. Polaroid said they don't have a code anyway since their units are "so new." I suppose the only way to go for now is with a learning remote that actually captures the code from the original. Tough when you don't have the OEM remote like Nemesis. ...........TD

That remote does not work well with 1086. It will power it up - not much more, apecifically it can;t bring the menu up to set anything. The dvc2000 has no frame menu button. I've tried several universal remotes searching the code with the same results but the Direct TV remote works the best, still no menu.
