I received a free dvd player when I bought my fido phone. It's not top quality, but the dvd player does its job. Well, that's until the remote malfunctioned on me...

Anyone know of a remote control that's compatible with Nova brand dvd players? The model is DV-D311.

OR, does anyone know Nova's website, contact info?

Replies are much appreciated.
Thanks,
M

Is the remote completely dead? If some of the buttons still work, it might be possible to capture the signals from it in order to program another remote.

If this is the case, I could borrow the remote from you and program a replacement remote to work the Nova.

Hey,
Thanks for replying.

The remote is pretty well dead. I've tried to get help from reps @ future shop and radio shack, and so far, no one's been much help at all.

Every rep I've spoken to has just told me to contact the manufacturer. Nowhere on the dvd box or manual states any contact info or website at all.

Any suggestions where I might begin to look?

Thanks,
M

Right now our best bet to finding the right codes for you is your dead remote. Could you describe what caused it to become dead? In many cases, dead remotes are actually fixable. At any rate, if you have no further use for the dead remote, send it to me and I'll see what i can do with it. If I can get it working well enough to at least send some signals, that might be enough to get us started figuring out the right code for it.

Hi

Well, if you are still there....

I have the same problem, same DVD player, annoying as hell becuase I actually want to use it now and watch Mad About you.

I have contacted Nova

They said no code.... is that possible

However if you want to blow some money apparently they have the code at http://www.dvdremotehack.com/ for 5 pounds or something close to that

Hi all or anyone out there!!!

Dec 2005, I have lost the remote altogether!!!! I do not want to throw the machine away.

Is there any alternatives:
1) contact company to get new remote (has this worked for anyone?)
2) download remote hack? how does this work? (can anyone explain how this works? do they give you a code for a universal remote? I have a Palm Tungsten E, could I use this?)

Thanks,

Karmen

i own a nova dv-d311 and have orig remote, however i found that newer uei remotes, that don't have provision for advanced codes, can accept device code 1172 and work,so far i have found four models that accept 1172, none unfortunately, have mostly more than basic functions. one model was the newer learning remote C0ARC05G WHICH IS A BIT REDUNDANT however it is a step in the right direction.
