I want to know if Uncles is a good place to buy? I had ordered and paid cash -- $10,000 for some Mcintosh equip. (MX132 and MC7502) from a local dearler (I had to realy push to get him to drop $1,000. I had tried all over and this was a good price. I then called Uncles to order a Marantz RC 2000 MKII. and happened to ask about Mcintosh. He quoted me a price $1.050 (gray market)less then my dealer!! Carlos seemed up front said it would take him a couple of days to ship. I did not cancel my other order even though my dealer did not ship right away even through the unit was there, (I paid cashiers ck on the 9th and they shipped on 13th.)I really push hard for my discount and felt like a jerk to withdraw my purchase. Everyone has to make thier profit.
I did not know that the mark-up was that high. Is it? and can I believe what I was told by Carlos at Uncles? I just want to know

Try getting on the Digital Theater audio-related forum (digitaltheater.com) and searching for "Uncles". Some folks there have bought equipment (not McIntosh though). Seemed to be satisfied - just be aware they are not authorized dealers for some lines they sell, so often they substitute their own warranty for that of the (voided) manufacturer. Also try mail order survey at [Link: visi.com]Good luck!
