I was about to buy a Philips Pronto when I found these two remotes that cost less than one third of what I was about to pay.

I own a Pioneer 55-A3 television, Technics SA-AX6 receiver, a Toshiba SD-3108 DVD player, and other equipment. I would like to know if anyone has similar equipment to mine and uses one of the two remotes in question. Are there any functions that one of these two remotes cannot "learn" or "mimic"?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I own an av producer 8 with the RF, and felt if you only needed basic functions and a few of the features if you happen to own the most popular equipment, then it was ok. But I have yet to find a learning remote that also has rf capabilities. I've heard great things about the home theater master...The more expensive one can learn, the cheeper model just has a programmed code bank. Good luck.

There are products that will give any IR remote RF capability..the Terk Leapfrog, the X-10 powermid, etc.
