I just got my new Philips RC9800i in the mail and was able to program all my AV device remotes without a problem. When I programmed my D-Link Remote, only one code set came up, so I selected it, but my D-Link DSM 320 media extender will not respond to the RC9800i.

I tried Learn & Match, Autoscan & Select & Try without any success. I called Philips Customer Service and they suggested looking for the codset on this website. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing this problem. This would really suck, I got this remote to replace all my others.

That's odd, because codesets can't be downloaded into the device. You can only update firmware from the PC.

Have you tried learning the codes directly from your original remote?

The only codesets that come up are 9406 & Custom.

So I tried the Try & Learn feature that you suggested, I used the feature the learn the On/Off power button. RC9800i would say that it learned the button, but when I went to Try the DSM would not turn On or Off and the RC9800i would make a ping sound.

I sent an email to D-Link to find out if their remote sends more than just an IR signal, but I haven't heard back yet. Do you think that could be the cause?

Or could it be something with my wireless network settings. I am using a D-Link AirPlus Extreme G wireless router to connect my PC to the extender and haven't been able to access the media server to view pictures/music/movies from my PC.

I meant going into the RC9800i's "Custom" codeset mode, and directly learning the original remote's commands.

Thanks Rambler358, that worked.

I deleted the device from the remote and went through the set up process and used the learn feature for each button. Time consuming, but it worked.

I'm still not sure if I want to keep it, there are some functions that I do not like and the wife is not willing to sit down and learn.

Thanks again for your help:-)
