I just upgraded to Windows 10 and now the Virtual Windows XP program I was using on Windows 7 will not run. I found that I can run ProntoProEdit NG without it but when I try to connect the remote to the computer with the cable I get a message that the Device is not connected properly. Does anyone know how to get it to recognize the remote?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you for reading this,
.....Gord

I read that Virtual Windows XP wasn't compatible with Windows 10.
That's the reason that I haven't updated my Windows 8.1 PC.
I hope that Virtual Windows XP wil come with a solution.
Best regards, Jürgen

I couldn't find any way to get Windows 10 to recognize my Pronto TSU-7000. I finally managed to track down an old Toshiba laptop running Windows XP and am using that. It will never be hooked up to the internet or be used for anything but updating the Pronto so I'm not worried about viruses or anything like that. I got it for $100 and I consider it a bargain!!! I'm just glad I will be able to keep my Pronto viable for the foreseeable future. :-)

So am I.
I'm glad that I have an old laptop with Windows XP - and I plan to keep it, even it is just for the Pronto(s).
Best regards, Jürgen

Just got a new computer loaded with WIN 10. Works wonderfully fast/efficiently. Downloaded ProntoProNg software without problem, got the interface program, but found it would not recognize the 7500. Wish I had read these posts---would have saved some agonizing and wasted time/effort. Glad I still have the old computer, which has a bunch of legacy programs that won't run on Win 10. I had these programs running on Win 7 with no problem. I understand that difficulty is that Win 10 is 64 bit, and these programs designed for 32 bit. Suggestions?

I don't know what the technical reason is that the Pronto software doesn't work with WIN 10.
The Pronto software works here on an old laptop with Windows XP and on a 64bit laptop with Win 8.1 and Virtual Windows XP.
Best regards, Jürgen

Have you tried running VMware under Win 10?

According to vmware it works OK, although you might have to update the VM to get around a windows 10 driver validation bug.

Did anyone tried if vmware works with Windows 10 (eventually after a firmwareupdate of the VM)?

Today I installed W10.
The VMware program I have used is: VMware Workstation 12 Player, - as a shell for: - in my case - Windows XP.
It works fine with the Pronto!

Believe ProntoPro Edit only worked with Windows 2000, XP, maybe 98 - like who uses that today???
Philips dropped all support for consumer Prontos years ago.

I'm in worse shape - I have a Mac OS10.10 laptop and ProntoPro Edit is only old Windows compatible. Know there was an app called Tonto I've read about here, but read not kind things about it.
Cheers

Windows 10 without WMware? Were you able to upload and download in to your Pronto?

I can get the program to run, and make changes to my setup, but cannot communicate with the device.

I am running compatibility mode Windows XP service pack 3, as an administrator.

I see websites that claim to have windows 10 64bit drivers for the Pronto. They have ads, and want you to load some sort of driver installer. Lets say I am skeptical. I am pretty sure any driver loaded will not work, and I will end up with a virus, or some sort of unremovable adware.
