Hi All,

I did a search and couldn't find a solution. I have a system with various devices all controlled with RF (Let's call it RF1). One of the devices suffers interference from other devices IRs. So, I bought another RF extender and gave another address only for this device (RF2). The problem is that I need to send a command to a matrix switcher in RF1 when I press the device button for the RF2 device. I tried to put a copy of the RF2 device in my devices list, using RF1 just to switch the matrix input and then jumping to a hidden RF2 device, but the Pronto NG software don't let me jump to another device. Is there a solution for this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Yes there is. In each Device is a Device Action List. Take the actions you would normally have in the Device Action List and put them on a button on a hidden page within each device.

Device1 - Hidden Page1 - DeviceActions (This device is coded for RF1)

Device2 - Hidden Page1 - DeviceActions (This device is coded for RF2)

Now, in the ActionList of Device1, put a Link to the "Device1 - Hidden Page1 - DeviceActions" button followed by a Link to the "Device2 - Hidden Page1 - DeviceActions).

If you are on the 'Devices' system page, now, when you press the button for "Device1", you should see actions from both Buttons executed.

Following this pattern and Links, you can mix and match Links from whatever equipment you have attached to whatever extender you might have. The Extender applied to an IR code is solely controlled by the Device in which the IR code is contained. If you 'Link' buttons, you can create action lists that execute commands using multiple extenders. Note that you may have to insert some delays from time to time but overall, this approach works.

I'm very new here and learning by reading old threads. What I don't understand in this one is:
You can't jump to a device, only a page, except from the Devices system page, but you can link to a device in order to execute its action list. Wouldn't this work here? Couldn't you simply put Device2's actions in the normal way in its Device Properties and a link to Device2 in Device1's Device Properties, following its own actions. Or vice versa (but not both or you'd create a loop).

I don't visit here often, but this intrigued me. I think there might be a way to get to the end result you want, but I'm having trouble understanding what that is.

As I see it, you can't jump to a device without jumping to a page, because a page has to appear on the screen, and the software makes you choose which page you want to appear. So, while you are indeed forced to jump to a page, that's only because you can't jump to a device with just random choice of which page comes up.

What's the net result you're trying to get?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
