Hi all,

My TSU7500 seems to have recently developed an issue.

My home button, volume buttons and mute button seem to have stopped functioning correctly.

They beep, they show the symbol on screen to suggest that they are sending commands, but do not trigger my devices to operate. The home button beeps, but no longer returns the remote to the home screen.

If I perform a hard reset to factory settings, the home button works. As soon as I upload my PCF which has been working for years, It stops working. If I use the simulator, the home button returns the screen to the home screen, but this does not happen in reality.

I've tried factory reset, updating firmware, re-learning codes but nothing seems to work. If I create soft buttons using the same IR codes, they work fine... I'm totally bamboozled - any ideas??

Thanks in advance,

Tim

have you ever spilled liquid on the unit?

My recommendation is that you take the unit apart and explore/clean with distilled water.

There are steps with pictures on at least 1 thread here. Search for replace 7000 screen or replace 3000 screen.

Thanks for the suggestion, Lyndel. I've not spilled water on the unit, but it's possible condensation could have formed over time i guess.

The only thing that makes me question if this is an electronic problem is that the home button starts to work if I reset the unit's firmware and use the standard Phillips interface, and that all buttons beep when I press them.

I don't really have much to lose though, so no harm in trying out your suggestion.

I'll report back once I've had a chance to explore. If it doesn't resolve it, maybe I'll explore irule or similar as a replacement....
