I am trying to program my Marantz RC5400 to turn on my Panasonic TX-P55VT50 with the discrete Power On code.

It works fine when the TV has just been powered off but after 5 to 10 mins or so the TV goes in a further power saving mode and you can hear a relay click off.  At this point the command no longer works.

I have tried repeating the command a number of times as well as inserting a break however the same result.

Usually the original remote with the power toggle you need to hold it down for some time before it will switch the TV on.

As it is a raw code is it possible to edit so the code repeats longer?  I have tried a quick go but nothing has worked so far yet.

The code is this one, anybody know how to change it please?

If the Marantz supports the notion of 'Duration' on IR code, try varying 'Duration' from default. Start with the 1 second and work your way down to something that does not work and then come up just a bit. If it does not support 'Duration', then your only option is to modify the code.

I have changed your IR code data from repeat-only to one shot. (If interested see Barry Gordon's Pronto Hex IR Format word doc in Classic Pronto Files Section). Next, I have doubled and tripled the data 32->64->96 in 3 versions of the codes. Note that a press and hold of a button containing these codes below will NOT continue to send IR because the code is one-shot only. If these don't work, feel free to extend the code to as long as you need.

unfortunately the Marantz software doesn't have the ability to change the duration of the code which is an unfortunate omission and would have probably been the easiest route to fix.

I tried the three codes you gave and they had no effect on it, so I tried quadrupling to 0000 0071 00C8 0000 .... and no joy. How do you go longer still as the next one is 12C?

I did randomly however hold the triple one down and this turned the tv on which was bizarre given your comment.

Just need to work out how to use it the power on macro, I tried repeating the longest one three times but no joy.

Any ideas?

It works it is a button on its own if pressed once quickly unlike the rest of the codes, which a few work but need to be held.

However when I use it in a macro (linked to it) it doesn't work, arrgggh :)

Any ideas?

The code was not quadrupled, otherwise, the number would have been C8 instead of C7.

Note that the C8 is hex and C8 in decimal is 192 (0xC0) + 8 (0x08) or 200.

You can use Windows Calculator in scientific mode to quickly convert back and forth.

It was C8 when I pasted it in (was using calc), but clicking ok and then viewing it again resulted in the changes including the leadout. It seems that any of the panasonic codes from the panasonic website get altered by WizzIt. Not sure if that is the case with ProntoEdit. The above code you gave me gets rearranged to this

If I repaste the one that works it gets altered to something different.

take the one i gave you and append the original 50 pairs (0x32) and then change the first 4 pairs to 0000 0071 00c8 0032. this means you have 4 one-shot sets and 1 repeating set. if this is still shortened, i can try 1 other thing which is to provide some bogus data as a repeat.
