Hello all,

Just about to get Foxtel's IQ2 installed and I was wondering if there's a database of codes on this site for it? I see there's one for IQ, will it work for IQ2 or is the remote different?

I can learn them of course, just wanted to save time if it's already available :)

Thanks in advance.

There is only one difference between the codes and that's the fast forward and rewind codes. When you use the IQ codes on IQ2 the unit will jump straight to 32X speed generally.

Simon.
I guarantee I'll tell you the truth and I guarantee I'll tell you what you need to know but I can't guarantee that I'll be telling you anything you want to hear.

Thank you - ok, I'll use the IQ codes as a base and learn the ff/rew ones.

I had trouble finding that IQ code.
Perhaps the link is old, or perhaps I am old (69)
Could someone post the code here
Thanks,
Rob
PS If there is now an IQ2 code, that would be even better

Thanks for responding, that was kind of you.
You are way more advanced than me, in manipulating universal remotes.
I had a dream that there would be one single 4 digit code that I could punch into my Chunghop RM-L987E
After trying every code that I could find, I got out of my cave (into the cold) to drive to one of our supermarkets (Woolworths/Safeway). They had a Skandia Remote for $20 that was called 'Pay TV' which had a sticker saying 'Preset to Foxtel'
Brought that home, and pressed the Pay TV button, and it worked.
Has all the same buttons as the IQ2 remote, and they all work.
Even the Fast Forward works in stages ( 2x -- 32x).
Couple of the buttons are slightly 'misplaced', which would be no problem for someone under 60.
If anyone is interested, it has 'REMOTEC' down the bottom, and has 'DR10005' inside the battery compartment.
At my age, it was probably the best choice, as If I had been successful in programming the Chunghop, then button misplacement would be an understatement.

I had previously purchased three Chunghop Big button remotes (at $5 and free shipping, everyone should get some of these) -

[Link: chunghop.com]
The buttons are so big that a 99 year old could use them.
They only have buttons for Volume up/down, Channel up/down, Play, Pause, Stop, FForward, FBack, and possibly a couple of others.
It is a Learning remote, so you just do the typical 'remotes face each other' trick.
I have tried 'learning it' with my IQ2, and the Remotec. It chirps happily, but the IQ2 box ignores it.
If you could help me program that for my IQ2 box, I would be extremely appreciative.

Thanks again for your time,
Rob

The codes I posted are for PC programmable remotes and this is what this Forum is for (I'm not having a go at you).

Foxtel remotes use an IR Protocol that can be very hard for some learning remotes to learn correctly. I have experienced $500 remotes that could not learn a Foxtel remote correctly so I don't think you will have much luck learning them with a Chunghop remote.

The only way to get them to work is if they have some preprogrammed code for Foxtel you could use and I don't know of any for this remote, sorry.

Are the buttons on the Foxtel remote to small for you?

Cheers
Jason

Sorry about the wrong forum.
When Playing a recorded file, I find the FF, Pause, etc on all my remotes (IQ2, Teac PVR, DVD Player) annoyingly small.

Thanks for trying to help,
Rob

Sorry to raise a long dormant thread. I am in the process of installing a Foxtel iQ3 box and found the above codes very useful for my Pronto TSU9400. Unfortunately the "Back" code is the same as the "Rewind" code and the iQ3 box agrees with me. I have thus far failed with my attempts to learn the "Back" code from an iQ2 remote, due to ignorance on ProntoEdit Professional 3 and similarly have failed in my online search. An kind soul with the correct code out there?

Thanks to the wonderful information provided on this forum I have been able to create a working pronto hex file for "Back". Thought I would post it here for other users trying to wrangle those pesky iq3's.
the code is
0000 0073 0000 0012 000F 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 001C 0006 0C90

I've just found this awesome thread that is helping me along with my project. I was wondering if anyone has the pronto codes for volume up and down?

I've tried recognizing it using a few different programs but my iq2 doesnt listen to it.

Hi Nefylem
I am using makehex to create the ir hex codes for my project. According to the database at irdb.tk the "OBC" for Volume + is 16 and Volume - is 17.
This converts into a hex code of:
Device Code: 33.160 Function: 16
0000 0073 0000 0012 000F 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 0010 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 0CA9
Device Code: 33.160 Function: 17
0000 0073 0000 0012 000F 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 0010 0006 000A 0006 0010 0006 0CA3
Hope this helps

Currently going through all 256 (minus the 35 documented OBC,s) possible ir hex codes for the iQ3 trying to map out all those that are functional mainly so I can enable "Search" and "Favorites" on my TSU9400.
About halfway through now and have "Search" working. It is OBC 155 here is the hex if anyone else needs it.
Device Code: 33.160 Function: 155
0000 0073 0000 0012 000F 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 0016 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 000A 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 0016 0006 0010 0006 0016 0006 001C 0006 0C7E
