macro with page jumps not executing on programmed order

My TSU7000 seams to be issuing the commands before the page jumps in any macro I create.

For example, I create a macro to do the following in this order:

1) Send IR command 1
2) Jump to 'Please wait' Page 1
3) Send IR command 2
4) Jump to 'Please wait' Page 2
5) Send IR command 3
6) Jump to 'Please wait' Page 3

However, when the macro is executed on the Pronto, it seams to re order them as follows:

1) Send IR command 1
2) Send IR command 2
3) Send IR command 3
4) Jump to Page 1
5) Jump to Page 2
6) Jump to Page 3

However sometimes it does it in th right order, but more often than not it doesn't.
It's quite frustrating on very long macros because the page jumps continue running long after all the commands have been excecuted.
It also messes up the crucial timing of some macros where the page jumps were supposed to account for some of the required delays.

I'm pretty proficient at Pronto programming but this has got me stumped.

Anyone know why and how it can be corrected?

Thanks in advance

Julian

I made an attempt at this subject
[Link: remotecentral.com]
more than a year ago,
to this day the problem exists, even with firmware version 3.8.17 !!!

Another annoyance is the complete lack of
"hard-button back-light activation" settings.
That could be placed on page "4/5"
in the Pronto's settings menu in the next
firmware release.
It gets better all the time.

Thanks for the reply.
It's bit weird this but I think I may have solved the problem.

I connected the Pronto to the PC and launched the simulator.
Then I ran every macro on the simulator at least once before downloading the PCF back to the Pronto.

This really does seam to ensure the macro runs properly. However, if iI reset the pronto or remove the battery then the problem comes back until I follow the above routine.

Definately a bug!

Did you try a delay of 0.1s right before sending the IR codes?

No, I havn't tried that.... it would take ages though to add the hundreds of delays between macro commands throughout my pcf.

Anyway, the 'simulate it first' trick is definately working.
I downloaded my PCF again without simulating the macros first, and once again the running order was all messed up.
So just to prove to myself that I wasn't going mad, I ran all the macros in the simulator first and it worked properly.

The only problem is that it appears you have to do this this every time you update the remote. So making minor alterations to your confiiguration ends up taking alot longer than it should.... and you have to remember where all your macros are!

That's the strangest thing that I've ever heard of. I've never run into this problem myself with various TSU3x00/TSU7x00 remotes. Have you been able to narrow down whether its a hardware or software issue? I'd suggest downloading other PCF's to your remote and testing for the problem in addition to downloading your PCF to another remote for testing.

I don't think there's much point downloading other PCF's to my remote since the combination of equipment it controls will be different. I won't be able to determine if the timing of commands matches the page jumps.

However, I am getting a new RU990 tomorrow so should be able to establish if this quirk is unique to my TSU7000.

I have a feeling it will do the same thing though. I really can't see this being a hardware problem.

ok, I've just tried my new RU990 and guess what?... exactly the same thing happens!

As soon as I got it going I did a straight PCF download and all the macro running orders were messed up.

So I did the same as before, ran all the macros in the simulator before downloading and it all works perfectly now!

The most annoying part is that it reverts to 'messed up macros' by simply entering the tools menu.
So that means whenever I need to set a timer, alll the timings get screwed up until I return it to the PC for a 'pre-simulated' dowload.

Before I contact Philips, are there any experts here who tell if my PCF is in someway corrupt? It works absolutely fine otherwise.

I'm almost 100% sure that simulation does not affect a download into the remote as the binary files are generated and stored in completely separate folders. I don't understand why things are going awry but there's got to be something different that you are doing in the process of downloading to get a working config. With regard to a corrupt PCF. If it were corrupt, it would likely not load/download.

However, if you are so inclined, email me a copy and I'll run a few checks on it just to be sure.
