Hi all, I've just upgraded the firmware in my RU950 to the latest verion and am now having problems. :o(

The main thing I noticed is that the volume control now goes up in increments of 2 rather than 1 making it impossible to get just the right volume.
I tried using a soft button rather than the hard button, but get the same results.

I thought I'd try limiting the duration however that just stops it working altogether - interestingly enough even if I go back to default duration (I have to delete the soft button and recreate it to get it working again).

I have also found that it is now impossible for my remote to learn signals from my B&O whereas it used to just be tricky - interestingly enough one of the updates was supposed to make this easier!!

Any suggestions particularly for the volume problem please?

I found an old copy of the firmware (3.6.7) here and have loaded that, and the problem goes away, but then so does the ability to use hard buttons with one click which I really want. The problem seems to start at 3.9.8.

Thanks,
Jeddy

Is the volume button using a learned function? If so you have to get the right code for your gear, this should solve the problem. Same to the B&O gear.

Yes I'm fairly happy the code is right, it is the same one which worked for my 940 and works fine on the 950 until I upgrade to the new level of firmware.

Belive me you have to find the right code. Just because It was working with the old firmware does not mean that the code fine.

I have the same problem with my TSU-3000 and Anthem gear. My guess is, Philips made some kind of timing change in firmware versions after 3.6.7, and I've never been able to make some commands work. So I'm stuck at 3.6.7.

Play around with the "minimum duration" setting for those codes.

Something really weird is happening here. I thought I'd go back a step and check the IR code as suggested above

If I refresh the volume down IR code from my 940 pronto edit which I have as

0000 0009 0016 0015 005b 0546 005b 0546 005b 1bc0 005b 0546 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 1083 005b 0ae4 005b 0546 005b 0ae4 005b 1083 005b 0546 005b 0ae4 005b 1622 005b 3d82 005b 0546 005b 0546 005b 1bc0 005b 0546 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 0ae4 005b 1083 005b 0ae4 005b 0546 005b 0ae4 005b 1083 005b 0546 005b 0ae4 005b 1622

I can perform a test IR and it works correctly. However once I've clicked on OK, if I go back into it the test IR no longer works and the code has been translated to

0000 0009 0016 0015 004F 04A2 004F 04A2 004F 1869 004F 04A2 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0E86 004F 0994 004F 04A2 004F 0994 004F 0E86 004F 04A2 004F 0994 004F 1378 004F 3CC3 004F 04A2 004F 04A2 004F 1869 004F 04A2 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0994 004F 0E86 004F 0994 004F 04A2 004F 0994 004F 0E86 004F 04A2 004F 0994 004F 1608

I thought I was going mad and doing something wrong, but it is definately doing this.

Any suggestions as to why the code is being translated and what I can do to stop it please?

Many thanks,
Jeddy

Actually, scratch that, I think I'm sorted!!!

I did a different search here and found another hit suggesting that for B&O you need to press the key very quickly in order for the Pronto to learn it - I tried this and it not only learned it, but it now works correctly.

For info the code now comes up as

7000 0009 0000 000D 0003 0017 0005 0005 0001 0005 0004 0004 0004 0004 0004 0004 0004 0004 0004 0003 0004 0005 0004 0003 0005 0004 0002 0005 0010 0994

quite how it can come up so differently and still work is beyond me, but then I don't understand these codes (I just want them to work!)

I need to check this is all truely sorted - tomorrow eve - I'm tired now, but fingers crossed....
