Hi guys,

I realize that many of you don't have this model yet, but I'm having trouble synching the remote with my computer.

I'm using Virtual PC on Mac OS X and while VPC recognizes the remote it isn't passing the signal to PENG properly. I have an escalated incident # with Connectix, the manufacturer of VPC, but I don't think they are going to make any changes to accommodate the Pronto.

The only suggestion they have had so far is to initiate an upload or download FROM the Pronto. They said that it is same workaround used to sync any USB device that doesn't keep a constant connection, like a PDA. They are confident that this will work, but I didn't think it was possible. This is my first Pronto, so I'm not really sure of all of it's capabilities.

I have a Dell I can use once and a while, but it would be much easier to do everything from my Mac.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Aman

Why don't you use your Mac to make the designs, then copy the pcf to the Dell and make the downloads... Hey.. I am a Mac Addict too and had to use a PC just for my pronto because of the slow performance of VPC in any OS (0S9 or X.2 • VPC5 or VPC6)
Regards,
Willy.

as far as I know it is all done by the PC. There is no way to initiate the transfer from the Pronto. I know on the old Pronto you could use hyperterminal to download to the Pronto. Does VPC have hyperterminal? did you try it?

VPC does have hyperterminal. VPC just emulates the hardware...you actually install a regular version of Windows on it, so it has a full complement of software and drivers.

If hyperterminal would work then Z-term would work natively on OS X. However, I am pretty sure that since the 3000 is USB based, it will not work with any terminal program. The older Prontos probably worked because they are serial based.

I guess I'll just download from this Dell for now.

Yup, I saw that thread. I only started this one because I was hoping someone would know a way to start the download from the Pronto that I didn't. Since it's fairly clear that there is no way to do this, I'm going to give up on this thread and concentrate my posts in the other thread.

Thanks,

-Aman
