I want to buy one either in the UK, or mail order from the US. Does anyone stock these yet? If so please post some details here.

Thanks

Well I live in Germany and have searched the web already... seem its not on the market (yet) (at least non of the "standard" web dealers for home electronics carries it)...

But if anybody finds one, pls let me know (I will post here, if I find one on the web first...)

Speaking to Philips it is supposed to be released this month, but doesn't appear to be out yet. If I hear anything else I'll post it here.

I too am in the UK. How does the recharger connect to the mains supply. What type of adapter is needed? e.g. is it 12V 250mA going into the unit, and what does the physical plug look like?

The AC/DC adaptor that plugs into the actual charger uses a standard tip on the charger end (large outside diameter and medium sized center hole), and outputs 12V, 700mA. Perhaps Philips will sell a UK version of the charger with the proper mains supply?

You don't have to use the charger and rechargable batteries... it works very well on four standard AA batteries. Use standard rechargable AAs if you wish. Everything's in flash, you can leave batteries out of the unit as long as you'd like with no fear of losing anything. The charging cradle and NiMH battery pack are nice to have, but not necessary. That's why they're an option...

My pre-production unit is still running just fine on the original batteries. It only draws 65 micro-amps when it's asleep...

Since you have a pre-production unit, you must know or have access to the developping team...
Please congratulate them for "me". They seem to have "put their finger" on the right technology combination!
Also if you have any hint as to when the Pronto
will be available on-line/in Europe - please inform us pronto!

A user-interface admirer :)
