Well, I did the impossible - all messages in a particular thread, including a reply form, are now shown in the same page. Let me know what you think.

I think it's running slower than molasses in January which are being chilled by liquid nitrogen. :)

Yeah, that's a problem the sysadmin is looking into. Technically, it's on a T3, but in reality it seems to be on two cans with a string between them.

It is great! I don't have to go up an down the message screen anymore. With the last format, my laptop couldn't see the message when it was first loaded. I had to use the pgup and pgdn in order to move between the message and the thread. It was a pain in the last format when I was looking for a message and forgot where I saw it.

I don't see any slow in speed in my computer. May be the bottleneck is at my connection.

Good job!!!!!!!!!!

It functions and looks great. Speed is not changed on my end and if you factor in that all the replies are in front of you at once, its light years faster than the "old" version !

Keep up the great work !

Heh, I'm pleased it actually *works*. I figured it was impossible, but after about three hours I had it figured out. I'm learning more Perl than I want too.

Oh, and remember that with this forum you can always put a little bit of HTML into your text.

Well, free time abounds this weekend. I've updated the main thread listing to a more sorted look - let me know what you think.

It must be...interesting...coming here - each time you return something's changed! :-P

While I like the look of the front page, the red "new" seems to have disappeared. Can you re-instate it pls?

Um, there's a big yellow/black "New" that appears on the right side.

Doesn't show on IE4 with a 1280x1024 screen using medium fonts. Does show if I change the font size though. It seems that the frame isn't big enough!

I've had a look at the source. It may solve the problem if you use %widths rather than fixed widths for each entry in the summary page, that would work for the text, but not sure how it would handle the graphics, my HTML is a bit rusty.

For the table I'm not actually using "TD WIDTH=***" codes. I only set the main table width to 100% (to use all available space).

IE4 will always make a table bigger than it should be if the graphics inside don't fit - so the NEW graphic should **always** show, no matter what the widths are. If it's not showing, all I can think of is that it's either a bug in your particular version of IE4, or perhaps a problem with the display driver. I'm betting on the latter - I've noticed a few display problems with a new version of my display driver that didn't happen on the previous version as well.

Works now though! Thanks, I'm certainly impressed with the quality of this site, more than anything at least you don't use awful garish colours! Thanks once again.

The new format is very nice. I haven't noticed any slowness, actually it's faster since I only load the thread once.

Keep up the good work Daniel
