Hi guys, I need help I have a Cary 303/200 cd player the remote is useless, so I purchased a Pronto TS1000 with everything charger ect: I thought I could just instal one of the Philips/Marantz files into it and hope it would work, but no not that easy. I have the Cary remote codes but have no idea how to make a down loadable file/program to put into the Pronto like all the Philips/Marantz ones. I hope someone here can do it for me and put it into the files section so all out there can use it also as well as me under

Use ProntoEdit 4.3 available from the files section. There's also a user's guide there that you can download.

Then, simply add an IR code to a button and click the 'RC5/6' button in the dialogs to be presented with another dialog where you select RC5.

Choose RC5 then enter the System and Command values you get from the Word Doc.

Even if someone gives you a file, that won't be good enough as you will still need to know how to 'merge' that content with your own. So, as a head start, I suggest you pick up the latest version of ProntoEdit from the files section for review.

There is also an FAQ (see link at bottom of the page) that will help get you started as well.

Search this forum or see the FAQ for tips on 'Merge'.

[Link: remotecentral.com]

There is a printable PDF version of the FAQ available as well as the HTML version for which I have linked the 'Merge' topic above.

Most of what you need to get started can be found in an older ProntoEdit Manual. Here's the download link.

Also, I may have my editors mixed up. I remember Marantz's TouchScreenSetup has the RC5/6 dialog but not sure about ProntoEdit. If you need ability to create RC5/6 codes in a user-friendly way, for sure you can use TouchScreenSetup to create a device page with all your IR codes and then 'Merge' the small config file you have created in TSS with your own in ProntoEdit (PE).

Well I must be thick I cannot do this, remember I have trouble with things like Word, and Spread Sheets to me are a nighmare,
I tried for hours yesterday and didn't make any progress with designing a user friendly screen with all the buttons. Let alone feeding all the RC5's codes and assigning them to the buttons of this [Link: caryaudio.com] code list for the Cary 303/200 cd player. I'll give it another go in a few days as my head hurts now.
