Hi all. I have had an RU940 for years now, unfortunately the cable has got lost during a house move. It's the serial cable with a 3.5mm jack, same as on the TS1000, TSU2000, RU890 etc.

I looked up my options, there's a camera cable that i could use but unfortunately I can't find one anywhere. I could also make the cable myself but I don't have access to a soldering iron (or indeed a multimeter which would definitely make the process easier). I found a similar cable with a 2.5mm jack and purchased an adapter but that didn't work. Now I'm really at a loss. Does anyone know any alternatives or have any suggestions? I appreciate that the remote is totally outdated but if I could properly program it it would be more than enough for my needs.
I live in the UK if that affects where I could find a solution.

Thanks very much, Alex

Alex,

Have a look at the FAQ.

I believe a Toshiba digital camera cable will work if you don't want to build your own.

Have a look at the faq for usb to serial converters. Cabling is not interchangeable.
