Simple question, couldn't answer with google. Can a TSU2000 be programmed to transmit a specific RC5 code like 0x61 ? The codes for my device use "0 x 15 system", what does that mean and will the TSU2000 work?

Yes, TSU2000 will support RC5 and the protocol you linked above as will any other Pronto-based remote.

System = 21 (hexadecimal \x15 or 0x15 is decimal 21 - use Windows Calculator in scientific mode if you need to quickly convert).

The 'command' conversion would be done in the same manner. 0x61 = decimal 97.

Are pronto remotes the only remotes that you can tell to transmit rc5 codes? I'm really just looking for the cheapest solution here to transmit one rc5 code with any kind of portable device.

RC5 has something known as a toggle bit. That is there is a bit (1 binary digit) inside the code that changes from 1 to 0 on each transmission. Other software only solutions can send RC5. Not sure about others. You might want to check out the JP1 forum on Yahoo.

Note that you can download ProntoEdit 4 from this site (Classic Pronto Files Section), install it on XP and give it a whirl. You can also have a look at the Pronto FAQ where toggle bit codes are discussed.
