Hello All...

I am looking for hex codes for a Sony RMT-CF1A remote....

I have the LIRC file and I've downloaded MakeHex...

Not sure what device to use or how to decipher LIRC file to the MakeHex program. I'm new to this. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

What Device is the Sony RMT-CF1A remote for?

Is this what you are looking for?
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

If yes, open the Sony15 .IRP File in Makehex with Notepad and Edit/Save it to Device=200 then Drag & Drop the .IRP File onto the Makehex App File. Then match the Function Number in the HEX File to the Command Code Number in the Link for each Command.

Cheers
Jason

Jason,

Thanks for your help...This has gotten me a bit farther, but not quite all of the way there.

Here is some more info on what I am doing.

I am trying to control the Sony HD Radio (XDR-F1HD) from a Speakercraft MZC-66. I have inputted all of the Hex codes generated by MakeHex, but it still will not control the Sony HD Radio.

I can point the remote at any of the control boxes for the MZC-66 and it will control them through the IR transmitter on the control box. So I believe that I have the transmitter/eye positioned properly on the MZC-66 and the Sony.

The remote is model RMT-CF1A. It does have "For Canada Version Only" on the back. Not sure if this would be causing the problem?

The MZC-66 has the ability to build the IR signal based on the Sony15 protocol. Where you enter the device and the button code. LIRC is saying that the frequency is 40000, but the MZC says 39800 for all but the Zero button where it lists 38095.

Any additonal help that you or anyone could provide would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I tried the Nevo Database and learnt some codes to a Pronto remote and their codes are different.

Protocol= Sony20
Device= 26.19

This is the same Device Number as XM Radio.
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

Here is learnt Power Toggle for you to try. It is at 40.244 KHz.
Function 21
0000 0067 0000 0015 0060 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 021C

Generally  + or - 1KHz does not effect the Device responding to an IR Signal.

MakeHex at 40KHz (39.857 KHz)
Device Code: 26.19 Function: 21
0000 0068 0000 0015 0060 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 020E

If you have no luck with them, you may need to get hold of Pronto Remote and learn the codes to it.

Cheers
Jason

There is an LIRC file for Sony RMT-CF1A at
[Link: lirc.sourceforge.net]

Those signals are Sony20, device 26.19

There is a function list for Sony20:26.19 at
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

The power toggle in those two places match each other and matches what Jason posted.
