Can anyone help? Installed a dual port serial card into my HP PC, using Vista premium OS. Installed Pronto edit 4 and Pronto won't connect .
When I try to update firmware it says that I don't have any COM ports on my machine. Pronto is an RU970.
I think it might be something in the device manager as I can change a number of things. COM ports are assigned to number 5+6 and PC says they are working...obviously Philips think they aren't there!
I'm not PC savvy enough to know what all the port settings are.

Help anyone please?

See item #3 here.

You must reconfigure your Port #5 to be COM1. Look in the Advanced tab of the driver (Device Manager) for COM5 and see if it can be reconfigured to COM1.
