All of a sudden the emulator will not function. I mean when I click on it, nothing happens and the screen freezes up. I have to 'end now' to get out and start over. It happens on the several ccfs I used yesterday that worked fine.
.
I read from a search a course of action that I would like to clarify with laymans terms since I am not real adept at many things on computers, even though I have managed to learn to program this remote -somehow- and with lots of help.

I should uninstall before downloading?
Which programs, the 'set up' and 'firmware update', or just one of them?
Is there much chance of me screwing up all my ccfs etc in the process?

I would appreciate some clarification and any other ideas that may fix this.

Thanks
rickp

If you've recently modified your CCF file, (today or yesterday) and learned a new IR code, ensure that each IR code you learned or that is contained in a CCF you merged into your own indeed has a name. Usually, when you learn a code, the string name is "LEARNED".

Although doesn't that only crash the emulator when you click on a button with an unnamed code?

Might be time to 1) backup your CCF files to some other directory than the same one as Touch Screen Setup for safety, 2) uninstall, 3) reboot, 4) reinstall, 5) try loading the CCF again...

Well Gents, I don't know what to say besides -thanks for your responses.

This morning I read your posts, tried my program once more before diving into the murky workings of the computer, and found my problem no longer existed.

Easy come, easy go? Good Day!

Rick
