Sorry I can't help figure out the ccf equivalent of those files.

But from the psiloc site -- how large is the display on this device? Are those SONY screens screen shots of Nokia cell phone displays? How tiny are the number buttons?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Start by unzipping the file you downloaded from the first link. Inside the zip is a CCF file.

Since this is new to you, you might also want to start here.

Yes, there are all screenshot of that program, I tried it on my 6600....it's really very funny, all the buttons are well readable and working...it appears as you can see in the psiloc site

Thank you for answering me...
I know I must seem totally unable...but in the zip there is just a .doc and a .xls file...can you tell me in what sense "inside the zip is a CCF file" ?

I have ProntoEdit 4.0.5, I read this [Link: remotecentral.com] but I don't understand what to do!

somebody can help me?
Thanks a lot!

Most files downloaded from there are .zip files containing CCF files, so I guess Lyndel assumed that one was.

Instead those two files are just the IR information you would need for building a CCF file. You need to set up the graphics yourself and manually copy/paste each Pronto Hex string.

Start with the .doc file:
Initially look at just the Key and Description columns (which together describe a key).
In your CCF, create one or more pages of tiny buttons with those descriptions.

Now use the XLS file together with the doc file.
In the doc file, find the "Operating no." for each description.
In the XLS file, find that number in column A.
Copy the Pronto Hex from column I
In ProntoEdit, paste that Pronto Hex in as the Pronto Hex for that description.

Then in ProntoEdit, make pages with the real buttons you want and alias each of those to one (or a sequence) of the tiny buttons created above.

but I don't understand what to do!

The part of that document that is relevant is where it says "How do I use these codes in ProntoEdit?"
That is supposed to explain the step where I merely said "paste that Pronto Hex".

But the UI is a little different in ProntoEdit 4.0.5.

If that's the detail you're stuck on (how to paste Pronto Hex), ask more clearly and someone will explain.

First of all, thank you for answering me.
In your CCF, create one or more pages of tiny
buttons with those descriptions.

How can I do this? I have Prontoedit 2 and prontoedit 4, how I have to use?
Where I must create those tiny buttons? Under "home" or under "devices"?

Then in ProntoEdit, make pages with the real buttons
you want and alias each of those to one (or a
sequence) of the tiny buttons created above.

Again, what are the steps I must follow?

Thx

I don't have the expertise or the patience to describe details of the basic operation of ProntoEdit. (I don't have a Pronto myself, and I only use or edit the IR signals in CCF files, not the graphics).

Maybe some other expert will see your questions above. But it is buried in a thread whose title may stop the people who might answer basic ProntoEdit questions from even reading this far.

You might want to start another thread for basic ProntoEdit questions or you might want to try the help built into ProntoEdit.

But in fact I need only to build a CCF file to import in Psiloc IrRemotem, I don't care about graphics or buttons or else in ProntoEdit, I don't have Pronto, like you.

Thanks anyway

That means you don't need the page(s) with the real buttons and graphics and aliases to the IR signals.

But a CCF file needs buttons for storing IR signals. So you still need something like the set of tiny buttons I described to hold the connection between the descriptions and the IR signals.

You might find (or use the IrPanels program to build) a CCF that already has panels of buttons and then edit it to change the descriptions and IR signals. That's what I do when I need a CCF file.

Also, the Pronto Hex in that xls file is in a special format for the RECS80 protocol. I don't know about the import ability in Psiloc IrRemotem, but most programs that can import Pronto Hex only understand ordinary Pronto Hex, not special formats such as this.

You may need to use the MakeHex program to create ordinary Pronto Hex for these signals. That also creates output that can be pasted directly into IrPanels to create a CCF with all the commands without individually pasting them into ProntoEdit (no need to use ProntoEdit at all).

RECS80 protocol includes something called a "toggle bit". In ordinary Pronto Hex, that is lost. The signals still work but there are some subtle restrictions. If the Psiloc IrRemotem understands the special format it might get the toggle bit right and avoid some issues. If you use MakeHex instead, you may need some extra work to clean up some subtle issues after it's basically working.
