Hi,
I posted this in Discrete Hunter Forum without result, so I hope maybe someone here can help me.
I own a terrestrial reciever,
Brand: MAXIMUM
Model: T-800 FTA
PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT IT in the following link and see if you recognize it (maybe with another brand):
[Link: netonnet.se]

I'm looking for discrete codes.
As this is a cheap product (probably a re-brand from other producer) available in Scandinavia I can't find the codes in the files section.
I'm sure they are out there (under another name).

Does anybody know who the original manufacturer is? Having that info I can search for discretes in the files section

I can't get the device on with ANY OTHER button than the Toggle On/Off. So there is no work around if I can't find the disctrete codes.
The toggle code (learned!) is
0000 006d 0022 0002 0155 00ab 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003f 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 0016 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 0016 0016 003f 0016 0016 0016 003f 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003f 0016 0016 0016 003f 0016 0016 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 05f4 0155 0055 0016 0e45
thanks in advance

That signal matches the power toggle of the
SatCruiser Satellite Receiver DSR-101 in this CCF
[Link: remotecentral.com]

and one of the DBS receivers in this CCF
[Link: remotecentral.com]

and a SAT device (can't tell what) in this CCF
[Link: remotecentral.com]

On a quick look through those CCFs I didn't see anything that looks like discrete power for the SAT. But you may find something I missed.

It is NEC1 protocol, device 8 (power toggle is command 10). You may want to try using MakeHex and IrPanels to generate and test all 256 possible commands for that protocol and device to see if you can discover some commands that weren't on the original remote.

Thanks John,
I had no idea what MakeHex, IRPanels,Protocols etc was.
Thebest way to learn is by doing (even if not understanding why)
So I downloaded and created the 256 codes.

AND HERE THE STUPID QUESTION:
For some reason between MakeHex input and IRPanels output the "0016"s become "0015". As I have no clue what the numbers mean I don't know if this is a problem.
Example:
Output in MakeHex
Device Code: 8 Function: 0
0000 006D 0022 0002 0157 00AC 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0689 0157 0056 0015 0E94

once it is "IR-paneled" gets misteriously transformed into (IR on button nr0 in panel 1)
0000 006d 0022 0002 0157 00ac 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0689 0157 0056 0015 0e94

Why have all 0015 become 0016?
As I'm for the first time editing Hex, I followed the instructions but don't really understand what I'm doing. I will try them out tonight anyway and see what happens. Hopefully I won't send some Autodestruct command to the Sat receiver...

Second question:Is ther any good link in this site to comprehensive HexEditing introduction for dummies?
I kind of got interested in learning some more.

Cheers

It's not a problem.

I don't recall IrPanels doing that. But I also don't recall ever checking carefully to make sure it didn't. I do know some versions of ProntoEdit will do that, and I assume you have no program other than ProntoEdit for examining the output of IrPanels. So maybe it is ProntoEdit that is transforming that. Either way it still doesn't matter.
