Hi all.

I've been redoing my current CCF for my Pronto RU940 over the past few days & I am trying to combine my TV & FreeView box remotes into one device on the CCF, so that I can use a "mode" soft button to switch the FreeView box on and switch to another page.

You may be asking, "Why don't you just have the FreeView box as another device?" but the reason I don't want that is to keep the device list on 1 page on the remote, as I am sick of having to scroll down the list for 1 extra device.

Anyway, my question is:

Is there a way of setting hard button IR values depending on what page of a device you are on, and not the device itself?

I want the channel up & down buttons to control my TV channels when I am using that device, but when I press my "mode" button to switch to another page on the same device I want the channel up & down buttons to control the FreeView box instead.

Is there a way of doing this? Or even a workaround that anyone can think of? Like making a device hidden so that it doesn't appear on the device list, but is available via softbuttons?

Thanks for any help anyone can give...

Hard button functions can only be assigned on a "per device" basis using device properties. You can, however have a device for your TV, and a device for FreeView and make whatever hard button assignments you wish in their respective devices. You will then need to devise a method of navigating between the devices. Most people use "tabs" to jump between devices. Many examples of this in the files area. To the user, it appears as though these are just different pages. What you can't do is use the scroll feature to change to these pages.

EDIT: No way to prevent this device from showing up in the device menu. But again, many people don't navigate with the device menu anyway. With my RC9200, I just turn it off.

EDIT #2: Well, you could give one of the devices a name that is just spaces (i.e. a blank). It'll still be on the drop down list, but will not be readable. If you put this device last, no one would know.

I thought this might be the case. Looks like I'll either have to think of another way around it or just have 2 separate devices...

There IS NO other way around it. You must live with 2 devices as Hard Keys can not be customized at the page level.

This is also the case with the NG remotes.

FYI, My DVD panels for all 3 jukeboxes are spread across 3 devices for each Jukebox.
