I bought an original Pronto (well, RU890) five years ago and it's been one of the best purchases I've ever made. At that time I also got one for my parents and created a task-based program for them so they'd quit calling me asking what buttons to push to operate their home theater. Over the years I've kept the programs on both Prontos updated with new devices, new graphics, tabs, etc. I recently purchased my first home and now have stuff I need to control both upstairs and downstairs. I created a new Pronto program that first asks "Where are you?" and then takes you to the appropriate macros and devices. But now I think I'd like to just get an additional Pronto for downstairs, and also maybe a spare or two, just in case. I've been looking at the features of the new generation of Pronto (TSU3000 & TSU7000) and decided that extra shades of gray, or 65,000 colors, and the extra memory just aren't incentive enough for me to spring for the extra cost. Sure they look neato, but the batteries wear down quicker and I'd have to learn a new editing program (since I use Tonto on Linux, which doesn't support the new Prontos). The old Pronto does everything I need.

Does anyone here have a suggestion for where to buy an old Pronto (TSU1000 or 2000, or their European counterparts)? I wonder if anyone in the NG group has a non-NG Pronto sitting around collecting dust? Should I post there?

I just bought two TSU2000's off of Ebay. One I got for $75US with the DS1000 charge dock, battery pack and serial cable. The other was $35US without the dock. Both of them work perfectly and I couldn't be happier with them.

I'm sure Daniel meant "foundling," but didn't want to hurt your feelings...

Yes, you should post this in the NG forum. Everybody here is likely to want to hold onto their OGs (Old Generation).

And since when is "works the first time and every time and all the kinks have been worked out of it and it outperforms the NG" mean obsolete? My only gripe is how dim the screen light is!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
