After dropping the remote (unintentionally), the backlight button now fails to work.
All the other functions seem fine.
I do not have the skills to open the back and mess things up further.

Question 1: Is there anything I can do short of attempted repair?
Reset did not help.

Question 2:

If I manage to find a replacement Pronto 2000, can ProntoEdit be used to copy the info from the old remote to the replacement remote?

Thank you for any relevant info & advice.

Question 1: Nope, it's likely that the L1 inductor has broken off. It's an easy fix, but you'd have to disassemble.

Question 2: Should be able to. You'll need the ProntoEdit software installed on your computer. Start ProntoEdit hookup old remote to your computer, upload your ccf from the old remote, save it, then download to the new remote.

If you are going to get a new remote, get a 3000 or 7000. You can import your 2000's CCF into ProntoEdit NG for the 3000/7000.
