I began a download and aborted it as I wanted to add one more tweak. I aborted at the wrong moment, so now the remote is in a loop where it resets, shows the "please wait" (first sign of life), beeps, then blanks and goes back to the "please wait" again. It's an endless loop. Reset did not work. Removing batteries did not work. Tried holding reset while reinstalling batteries...nope. Can't revert to original setup because it doesn't boot that far. Computer can't communicate with it.
Any way to do a hard reset on this?

Never ever click on cancel at any time during a down or upload.
One thing that you can do is to leave the batteries out for at least 10 hours if not more.
Then if that doesn't work, which it might not but you still need to do it. You can then connect it to the computer and reflash the firmware. When you reflash the firmware the computer will ask you to press reset on the bottum of the remote. But since your remote is in a reset loop, there is no need to press reset.
If they dont work, then read the FAQ for hyper terminal connection.

Additionally, Tonto has an excellent routine called "undead remote" built into the software. Seems to work first time/everytime. Tonto is available here: [Link: giantlaser.com].
