hi,
i've been trying for ages now to get my dimmer switch to work properly with my ru940. it still wont work.
CAZ? tried to help buy giving me the codes (on another tread somewhere). the code works but i have to press the button twice before anything happens
(ie) press press - turns lights on press press - turns lights off press press/hold dims lights down keep holding and it lights them up again
anyone here got any idea whats happening and how to fix it. i've pulled off a few more codes from here and will try them but its starting to get really annoying
much like "the annoying frog" ringtone
please help
oh and just a quick question. my remote casing is cracked and i have bought a broken remote to use the case from it however the remotes are different manufacturers one is phillips and one is marantz is there any diffrence or should it be a simple swap of casings

The only possible difference might the the hole (if required) for the light sensor. Should you need it, you should be able to chisel it out with an X-acto knife or small drill bit.

FYI, if the damaged remote is a Marantz, then I'd suggest fixing the Marantz as you can do multiple jumps and animation on this remote versus on the Pronto's as you have 'Scroll Backward/Forward'. Using the Marantz, you'll give up Beeps and Timers but many folks don't use those anyway.

the damaged remote is a marantz. the problem is, i am lead to believe, is that the contrast button doesn't work, therefore as i'm sure you are aware, the screen is blank. cant think of anythig else it could be unless the back light or the screen are broken.
any ideas on how to fix any of these problems or to test it to find out exactly whats wrong?

Take both remotes apart and swap the screen first. Then, if you are a skilled with a soldering iron, I'd suggest swapping the wheels between the remote.
