Looking for a sourse for a new screen for my Pronto TSU2000. I have yet to open it...but after I buy a torx screwdriver, I suspect I will have a "replace screen" to do.

Any one know of a sourse for new screens?
I am a bit leery about going to ebay only to find the unit has a toasted screen too.
:-)

Have you checked the FAQ? There is info about part numbers there.

By the way, the correct spelling is "source".

Am I understanding your first post correctly. That your screen is not broken right now, but you are afraid that it might break when you take your remote apart. If that is the case, why would you want to take it apart the remote? Is there something wrong with the remote? If so, what is the problem?

no the backlight is broke...I was thinking it was the whole screen, but I realized it was just the backlight.
so now aparently I need an inductor, and a soldering job...

too bad I can't program one of the other hard buttons to run the backlight.

Search for +L1 +inductor and you will most likely find some sources for this part. Any small electronics shop should be able to make the repair for you without sending the unit to Philips.
