Does anyone know if this receiver has those 'pre-defined volume levels' that some Yamahas have and which may be set my a single IR command?

Hmm, I imagine that something like the Z9 would have *everything* Yamaha has to offer.

I don't have an answer for you on the topic. I just orderd my Z9 today and am looking for any CCF to start with.

Do you have anything I could use ?

Do the Z1 codes work ? There is one file in the database..

Thanks

Went through the Z9's extended code set and it looks like Yamaha removed the Volume banks.... Theres probobly a new way to do it but application hasnt come up yet.....

The Yamaha Extended IR CCFs in the Files section should work. Pick the latest one for say a V1000 or a V3000. You may be missing a few codes but these are easily generated from the information on Yamaha's site using a utility like MakeHex (see the Files section).

This is the one I've used for years. Many thanks to Barry Shaw for the work he put into this.

Yes, THANKS!

I have a need to turn on an RX-V1300 at a preset level, and I will see if this file will do what I need.

One thing, though -- it looks like some of these levels and things are preset, and some of them can be put into memory from a physical adjustment. Is there documentation somewhere on just what to do and how to do it to use these?

Thanks!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Ernie,

There are some minute notes in the CCF itself. The way I figured the stuff out was playing with the Home Bank and Volume Bank IR codes against my own HTR5280.

There are no other docs. However, I might suggest that you visit the Files Section and download Andrea Whitlocks Yamaha Extended IR package as it documents the IR code and functions for all Yamaha receivers.

Andrea has done a great job of pulling this together (like she ever does bad work. LOL).

Any news regarding this? I just purchased the DSP-Z9 (the European version), it only took me a year from I started this thread :-)

The documentation says it supports 6 home banks and 6 volume levels. The legacy CCF mentioned above has the codes. Try it out. However, for a receiver as expensive as this one, I was surprised that it does NOT have discrete level settings :(

Lyndel,

forgive my humiliating ignorance (I used to know this stuff, but I simply cannot remember anymore - no I have not had a stroke, and I'm only 38), but what are home banks, and aren't the volume levels you refer to the same as discrete level settings?

While I have your attention, could you possibly leak a little somthing about upcoming SLN developments?

See this first link. FYI, I'm 38 as well this June.

SLN Version 2.0.0.8 has support to mark discs as being a "Favorite" and displaying the "Favorites" in a single list as a second set of panels inside the list. Ability to 'Sort All', Expand/Collapse All, etc...

Another nice feature is that you can specify that a Jump to the first page is put into the Action List for every device/macrogroup such that if a user chooses the device in the menu, a jump to the first page always occurs. Additionally, for 3000/7000 users, the first page list in the first device/macgroup can be specified to be visible even when all other panels are hidden (useful for 3000/7000 users in migration mode).

LAST BUT NEVER LEAST, ANY button can now be specified as source for a Player Button Entry or Links to this List. That's right, you can now set a Home Page button as 'Links To This List' such that you can now jump into a List from your Home Page.
