Hello! Surf Remote Control asked me to post here and I am planning to get a Pronto remote. My question was, will it work with my Phillips MX990D receiver (about 3-4 yrs old). Surf remote indicated that some Phillips products use an IR protocol that is dificult for the remote to learn.

I know this is the case with my Time Warner remote. I can only turn the reciver on and off, but the volume for surround speakers or all speakers will not work.

Anyone have this reciever and or know if it can work?

The default Pronto AMP codeset should work your MX990D with no problems. if not, there are a couple others in the internal database.... Should be no problem.

Thanks.

Does it matter which Pronto I get?

I do not want to spend over $300.00. Any recommendations on a model and where the cheapest place is to get one?
