Hi - I recently bought a TSU6000 and have been experiencing many crashes/freezes with the unit. It happens constantly and has become quite annoying. I used ProntoEdit to configure the unit and have "learned" all of the codes. As well, I turned off the pick up sensor since I read that this may cause problems.
Has anyone else been encountering similar issues?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Did you learn the codes via the connection to the pc? Or on the remote directly? If you learned them via the connection, delete them. Make the changes to your ccf. Download it to your remote. Learn the ir codes on the remote directly. Upload the ccf to save the ir codes for the next time you want to make changes to the ccf.

The reason is because learning on the pc could cause some of the codes to be dirty.

Thanks for the response Rob. I learnt all of the codes on the remote directly. Is there a way to easily find out if my CCF contains dirty codes?

Thanks for your help,
Francois.

yeah, download the orginal ccf. Play with it, even it it may not work with your components. See what happens. If it doesn't crash. Then you may have to relearn all of the codes.

Also you should reflash the firmware. Make sure that you have your ccf saved on the pc before you do this though. When it askes you if you want to save the ccf that is current on the remote, select no.

What do you mean by freezing? Is it locking up on a page? Or shutting down and not turning back on until you reset it?

By freezing, I mean - shutting down and not turning back on until you reset it.

I'm going to try Rob's suggestion to reflash.

Thanks for all your help.

ok, so now this is really weird. I flashed the device and it still crashes...
Here are the specs: Sys v1.4, App V1.4, Default 1, v.1.

Do you guys think that I have a defective device?

I think so. Last year I sent a bad 6000 in for a refurb, and the refurb I got does the same thing as yours. I think it's a loose connection (at least in mine). I noticed that it only really does it if I set it down hard. Not really hard but not gently either. Is that when yours does it? I've actually seen the screen black out when putting it down.
