Does anyone out there have the "toggle" codes for Philips/Magnavox Smart Series TVs? I have the TP3684 TV with RCU81B remote control. Based on a problem I am having getting Pronto to work with my TV (see post: [Link: remotecentral.com] ), I believe my remote uses parity bits, resulting in the remote sending out one of two different alternating IR codes when certain buttons are pressed. The trouble is that I only seem to be able to learn or capture one of the two codes. This is making it impossible to write reliable macros since I don't know what the alternate codes are.

I was hoping that someone may have already gotten the codes for their Philips/Magnavox Smart Series TV and would be willing to share the knowledge. I am trying to get the information from Philips, but not having a lot of luck. (Grrrr... it irks me that their own Pronto remote doesn't come with a codeset in the database to support one of their own TVs -- a TV which is only 3 years old).

If Philips responds to me I will be sure to post the knowledge here. Meanwhile, if you have the information stashed away somewhere, please send it to me or post here. Many, many thanks.

Good news! I found a commercial site ([Link: premisesystems.com]) with a rather large database of IR codes, including many RC5 codes. There I was able to find RC5 codes that work for all but one of my original remote's buttons.

What's interesting is that when I enter the RC5 codes, Pronto converts them into the longer strings that were being learned from my original remote-- but these converted strings work! The same codes never worked when learned or when entered directly. They only work when entered first in RC5 format. Not knowing enough about the Pronto's internals, I can only conclude that Pronto can correctly set itself up to use parity bits when the code is entered as RC5 -- maybe that detailed information is elsewhere on this site.

Anyway, here are the RC5 codes I was able to find -- for those who might be having trouble with a Philips Smart Series TV:

The button for which I could not find an RC5 code is the PIP Source button. The longer code learned by Pronto is as follows:

0000 0073 0000 000D 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0CAC

If anyone knows an equivalent RC5 code for this or the alternate long code, please post it. Thanks!

The signal you posted is command 95, which is 5F in hex. RC5 has a strange way of handling commands greater than 63 and I notice none of your other commands are greater than 63, so I'm not certain the 5000 encoding handles it that way.

John,
I've been chatting with you in another forum that is VERY related to this one ([Link: remotecentral.com]). These codes above is what I was looking to convert - and thanks to you telling me about your program (and how to use it) - I've been playing with converting 1-100 on these to see what I can get. In my case - only about 25% of the above codes worked as mapped. BUT - I was able to get 99% of the codes to work just plugging and playing them all in - what I've noticed, however, is that at around 50 (or so) they start to repeat again in order.
So I'm thankful between this message chain and the other one you're talking with me in to get my 99% of the way there - BUT - to make this long story short... I'm looking for a TV/VIDEO INPUT - which doesn't seem to appear anywhere in this list - nor the 100 codes I generated seem to toggle it. Right now the only way I can get to it is through the INPUT MENU (MENU --> SCROLL a bunch of times --> INPUT SELECT --> TOGGLE VIDEO / ANT (CABLE)). I have this damn remote - but it doesn't work anymore and of course the button is sitting right there on it. I can hear the thing laughing at me as I can't program it. This is the ONLY button I REALLY REALLY need - as even before I was able to find some other universal remotes that I was able to pull the other buttons (not very clean) off of. Any ideas how I can get this? Thanks!
Shawn

After doing a lot of searching - I found out that no such code exists. The only way to get to it other then through the MENU command is to create a macro that goes to channel 02 and then does a CH DOWN. FYI in case anyone else looks into this down the road.
