I have a Marantz RC2000 and I was wondering if the Pronto could be programmed to handle input switching in a similar way to the RC2000. What I mean is that on my RC2K, when I hit the DVD button once, it just puts the remote in DVD mode, but if I hit it twice quickly, it switches my preamp to the DVD input. Can the pronto do this?

Also, has anyone had problems with the touch screen getting dirty and not responding well?

If you have it programmed properly, whenever you select a device the preamp is always put to the proper mode. If you don't want to switch the preamp you can hold one of the bottom buttons and *then* select the device.

Since the Pronto is 100% customizable, you don't have to program the codes to switch inputs. Or, you can have them programmed but when you don't want them sent hold down the left or right buttons as you select the device.

Err yes, but what happens if I e.g. have programmed a macro on one of the hardbuttons? I want to change only the remote's mode, and then my complete hometheatre starts to turn on or what? :)

I guess in case you hold down a hardbutton and select an inputmode the function of the hardbutton won't be activatet, right?

While the device selection menu has dropped, the function of the left & right button changes. If one is held down, it temporarily stops IR codes from being sent as a side effect of switching devices. There's even a neat little animation of the Pronto 'turning its back on you' when you hold the button down.

Soon as you've switched devices, whatever you've programmed for the left & right buttons for the new device are restored.
