Guys: I am still trying to get a definite answer on the differances between the Pronto and RC5000. I'm sure there are many people waiting. I am also sure these same people would buy now if they were sure that the only differances was color. I know I would buy one right now.?

Well, everything I've seen leads me to believe it is indeed only a difference in color - especially now that the software/cable has been announced as free. Oh, well, the base RC5000 package also includes the charger, but you're not saving anything in price.

Joe,
I agree with Daniel's comments.
As both a Philips and Marantz dealer, I have still not been delivered any date as to when the RC-5000 will actually exist on the street. This should be clarified at CES 1/7/99 but still remains out in space. Considering that the Pronto has been and continues to be very well accepted, it is possible that acccess by Marantz could also be delayed. The thinh to remember is that Philips is the mothership and therefore decides who what when.
