Marantz products pre-programmed?

I'm sitting here anxiously awaiting my Pronto and charging base to arrive. (Should be here in the next few hours if the UPS tracking is at all correct. Thanks Bob at AvalonAV, GREAT service) I got to wondering which Marantz products are preprogrammed. I've read in various post and reviews on the Pronto that Phillips and Marantz products have some codes preprogrammed. Since I've got a Marantz SR-870 receiver, I was curious how much programming I'm going to have to do for it. I've also got a Marantz Laserdisk player, how 'bout that one, is it in there? :-) That leaves me my Sony gear yet to program. (DVD, VCR, and TV)
Auugggghhhh! Maybe UPS package tracking isn't all that great. I think I've got that "watched pots never boil" thing working against me. :-)
Thanks to all for their informative posts and experiences. I hope to be able to contribute to the group as well as soon as my remote arrives.

My solution to get the UPS guy to arrives usually involves leaving the house. 100% chance there'll be a yellow slip on the door when I come back. Hey, it's happened half a dozen times!

Basically it comes pre-programmed for what has been pretty much decided on as a "standard" for IR signals. Not a whole lot of equipment uses it, but chances are if your Marantz stuff isn't too old it'll work right out of the box. Just remember to say yes to "copy IR signals" when it asks you.

HA! Too true! Actually, what happened this time is that I checked the UPS tracking again after my first post and found that the driver needed an apartment number. Now I'm playing 'chase down the UPS guy before the weekend starts'!

I just got back from the UPS depot where they paged the driver. At first they offered to tell me where to find the driver so I could chase him down. Then when they figured out who he was, they changed their mind cause he probably wouldn't release the package to me. Now they're sending out one of their office people to retrieve the package because it turns out that my UPS driver is a little onery and unwilling to go the little extra mile. (That's THEIR assesment of the situation, not mine!)So now I'm waiting again for their office guy to drop off my Pronto. Isn't life interesting sometimes? :-)

P.S. Thanks for the response Daniel. I'm assuming that you were referring to the RC-5 codes? I've never seen how comprehensive those codes are, but I'm guessing, based on my RC2000 MkI, that I'm going to have to do some custom programming for some of the functions on my Marantz gear anyway. No biggie. Hopefully, I'll be able to work on it this weekend. :-)

Kurt,
As stated, it'll probably work mostly out of the box, however, because of the variations in the use of codes (functions) on Marantz receivers over the last few years to keep up with DD etc, you'll probably need to teach some. When you do, and the software releases, you'll be able to confirm that they are "clean" and noise free because when you teach a recognized natuve (RC-5/6/MM) code into the Pronto, it actually just creates a pointer to the actual RC code and shows the code as it's actual RC-XX format on screen, ie RC-5 5 103. If on the other hand, it learns the code along with stray IR noise, it'll display as "learned" on screen.
As per my previous postings, I suggest doing the basics now because the fancy frills and pretty bits are far easier via the PC software.
