My Universal Electronics 1056B01 furnished by Time Warner Cable has an issue with the volume down button. There is a 1-2 second delay after pressing the button before it starts to activate the volume on the TV. Then it's in rapid decrease mode and it overshoots before I can release the button. There's no way to turn the volume down by a small amount. The The TV light on the remote also doesn't come on until it starts.

Volume up works fine.

The TV is Sony. I've tried several Sony codes, but no change. I've tried disabling volume lock.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Alan

Try making sure that there are no keymoves or macros assigned to the Vol- button.  In TV mode,
1) Press Setup until 2 blinks
2) Enter 994 (2 blinks)   [this is the keymove command]
3) Press Vol-
4) Press Vol- again
The remote should blink twice.

1) Press Setup until 2 blinks
2) Enter 995 (2 blinks)  [Macro command]
3) Press Vol-
4) Press Setup until 2 blinks
The remote should blink twice.

Thanks for your help. It seems a little better. Still some delay though. Sometimes more than others.

To be honest, the two things I suggested should either make no difference at all or completely fix the problem.  You may want to ask TW to replace it.

OK. I'd say no difference then. I'll see if they'll replace it. Thanks.
