I tried all the codes in the book for Vizio and none of them work. I don't have JP1 set up for this remote. Are there other codes that may work or will I have to learn all the keys?

I wouldn't recommend trying to learn all of the keys-- it takes a lot of memory. Follow the directions in this post to enter keymoves.  TV 0178 should control volume, power, etc and you 'll need to use keymoves for things like the arrow keys.

My remote takes 5 digits. I tried your code with a 0 in front and all of the ones in the link but they all get an "invalid" response. The codes in the manual for vizio are 10864,10885, 11756.
Under "visio" they have the same codes plus 11755 so I tried that too. No luck.

Does this mean my only choice is learning them all or JP1? I only have a few other buttons learned for other devices - I am guessing about 6. Not sure if I will have memory limit issues. Have been thinking about JP1 for some time but never had a good reason to. Maybe this is it.

Use 10178.  The leading 1 implies TV; 0 implies a cable/SAT code.   Video codes use a leading 2 and Audio a leading 3.  You can check to see if that pattern holds in the setup code list.

10178 worked! All the basic keys work. I might find a menu function or something that doesn't work but that's a lot better than having to do all the keys. Thanks!
