Hi Everyone: I have spent several hours trying to locate the code. i have successfully downloaded the manuals for the TV and the Remote. The Code is not listed for Magnasonic. I tried searching the Code on the URC-5600 and had it cycle one hundred times as described in the manual. I have tried the following suggestions that I found on-line, 1180,1994,1078,1164,1278, 1928,0179,0706,0675,0651. So far nothing has worked. Thinking of just buying a new universal remote as the amount of time I have spent would warrant the purchase. Has anyone got a Code or suggestion for me? Thanks for looking at this post. Harry

Sorry. Code is too new for that remote. The $15 RCA RCRP05B has several codes that will work (TV 0835, 1211, 1236, 1498, 1687) using the following advanced codes:

NEC1 8

000181
100185
200183
300187
400180
500184
600182
700186
800053
900057
vol up00247
vol down00246
mute00117
channel up00251
channel down00250
power00119
menu 00052
display/info00118
tv/vcr00116
last/prev ch00054
sleep00168
pip on/off00058
pip swap00169
pip move00102
scan/fav00235
surround00036

There are about 10 other one-for-all type remote models that will also work.

Hi mdavej:
Thanks for the prompt response. I'm trying to comprehend everything you have typed in....My remote won't work with the Magnasonic T.V. The RCA RCRP05B will work with the 5 codes you gave me... and the advanced codes has got me lost. That's the part I don't have the slightest idea what you are talking about. When I purchase the RCA hopefully the manual will describe the advanced codes, if not then maybe you can take the time to respond to me again.
Thanking you for everything thus far....
Harry

The supplied manual doesn't describe how to assign advanced codes (sometimes termed EFCs). However, you can read about various 9XX commands at the JP1 Wiki.  Use the 994 keymove command "Assign Advanced Code 994 - EFC (one device mode)".  Also be sure to read about Channel lock and VPT (993 and 973).  The manual supplied with the RCRP05B describes these incorrectly.
