As I understand it - an Atlas model # 1055 learning remote can learn only about 20 to 25 commands from another remote before its memory is maxed out. My question is does key remapping (moving) and using advanced codes (EFC) also use up this memory? If so, which of these 3 procedures uses the least amount of memory and which uses the max? --thanks--

Key moves and advanced codes are much more efficient than learning. On the 1055 you have about 2050 bytes of learning memory and 500 bytes of keymove/EFC memory which are separate. One typical learned command could take 25 bytes or more depending on complexity. One key move or EFC takes only 7 bytes typically, for a total of about 70 keymoves/EFCs.

However the most efficient use of space of all is the 1020 bytes of device upgrade memory. If you get a JP1 cable, you can load entire devices into this area. Each device upgrade only takes about 50 bytes, which works out to about 1 byte per key.
