I've been a OFA user for several years and lurked here for some time. Now I have a problem that reqiures me to post, so here goes;
Dish recently upgraded the software on the 6000 HD units to support the new Superdish, and since then many people have had problems with their remotes not responding very well, including me. Obviously it's something that Dish should be fixing, but in case they don't, has anyone found a way to get their remotes to control the 6000 in a satisfactory way? Mine still works it, but sometimes it will miss a command or an entry. Thanks for any info!

Does the original Dish remote still perform properly, or does it act just as flaky as the OFA?

Also, what setup code are you using and with what OFA remote?

Thanks for the reply.
The original remote works just fine, but it is a UHF/IR combo remote, so perhaps the IR is the problem?
I'm using a 8811 remote with the 0775 code.
It almost always misses the macro commands to turn on or switch to HD or SD mode. When I hit the SAT button and then power, it always turns on.
When entering a channel #, it usually misses one of the digits. I've heard of other people having similar problems with Harmony remotes and with TIVO. Some have had to train the remotes to enter double commands to get it to work. I suppose I could try that with my macro commands with the risk of turning it on and then off immediately!
