My local Best Buy has Open Box Pronto Neos for $179. I currently have a Harman Kardon TC1000. Does anyone have any experience with the Harman Kardon and the Neo? Is the Neo as easy to configure as the Harman? I found the Harman to be extremely easy to set up or modify.

Are there built in codes for the New DirectTivo units? I am soon to have three of those so it is quite important that the Neo control a Direct Tivo.

I have read this forum and have found a sort of love it or hate it attitude as one will find with almost all techie stuff. What I am looking for is a remote with some good hard button functionality and a good touchscreen customization ability. That is why I am looking at the Neo. My wife is used to the Harman so I can continue her on that one. But my dad is a hard button afficionado. So the more functionality I can map onto the hard buttons the better. I have a Radio shack 15-1994 programmed for him now. It runs a home theater setup with a dishplayer. I would like to simplify his life a bit with a new remote that is a bit more flexible than the Radio shack.

I Downloaded it and it looks like NeoEdit, but yet I couldn't fiqure it out. Maybe I'm just to use to NeoEdit now, but I really don't see the diffence in what the $200 more would buy here. I think the Neo works fine, unless you have X-10, then I can understand
as this is the only code I have really heard of that can't be learned, yet.

Maybe you found it easier to just cut and paste your config out of some other .ccf files, really, I prefer to make my own!

I think you are right. I started off with PE and I think it is what you are used too. I find PE took some getting used to, but once you got the hang of it the work went fast (short cuts for everything) and I think the differences come from who the software was designed for. NE was designed for the consumer, so it is easier to start with, but PE was designed for the installer, so the more you use it the more tricks you learn and the faster it goes.


Let's be honest, there is no 200$ difference between the two. $100 at best and that is with a charger. I think it is a matter of taste and nothing else.

I just visited PricesRite.com, and they wanted $299 for just the TSU2000 alone. How did you get such a great deal?

AVSmarts has the TSU500 for $192.95.

I haven't been following the NEO too much until now, but that seems like a pretty good price, no?
