Any one gotten their Neo to work with the Replay?

There are codes for the Replay under VCR, 0641 and
0643.. Both of which seem to be pretty worthless.

The only functions that work are stop, FF, RW, Pause
and power. Nothing else works.. When I try to
learn codes from the Replay remote, it goes to fail
everytime. The remote has new batteries, and I have
been able to learn codes fine from five other remotes.

If anyone has a succesful control over there Replay, send me your .NCF, or tell me how you got it to work.

My replay is a 2000 series unit, and the Neo has the
latest firmware.

I'm having the same problems with my Panasonic ShowStopper (replay)! I just bouth the NEO the other day. I can't seem to find a work around for this either - I've tried everything. My Neo is now boxed up again and ready to return. I like the feel of the Neo and the hard buttons are great - it just won't work though :( II have 30 days to return this. If anyone knows of an update that will allow the NEO to work with Replay please post ASAP!

Thanks,
O

I also am having the same problem. I see that people using the other pronto models are able to control their replay devices so it becomes more of a mystery to me. The Neo says it learn the same frequencies as the other models, yet it will not learn these. Does anyone know if it possible to copy the codes from the .ccf files into .ncf files. Iwould really appreciate any suggestions anyone has, as I really like the Neo, but this is very frustrating.

Thanks,
Pace

Hey!
I got it working! The NEO does work with the showstopper! I had to mess and mess with it but I got it. Here's what I did;

I held down the button on the replay remote for a few secs. then I het the button on the Neo that I wanted to learn. This worked about 70% of the time. For the more stuborn ones I did this;

Move the Neo to the edge of the table with the ir window looking out off the edge, then take your replay remote and lower it or raise it and point it at the Neo ir signal.

Hope this helps.

thanks,
DAO

Onion,
You are the man. I guess you are more persistant than I am. Your advice was right on, with a little patience(or a lot) it is possible to get the Neo to learn the Replay codes. Now I can start the real fun of using the Neo w/o having to worry about multiple remotes. I can't thank you enough.

I've had no problems with Replay. I learned all the codes from the remote (including the numeric keys). To learn the codes I hit the button on the replay remote for about 2 seconds. Works fine every time.

I must say that I love the NEO with Replay. I've had various Pronto 1000s and 2000s and it was very fustrating negotiating the menus with a soft cursor. NEO works perfectly... Use the bottom 2 buttons on the NEO for 30 second skip foreward and skip backward and you'll be watching comercial-less TV with ease.

It's great isn't it. the hard buttons of the Neo make a world of diff! I'm trying to get some small .bmps so the interface looks a bit better - then I plan of uploading my file.

I paid $199.99 at best but for the Neo. I really was going to get a tsu200 - my wife works at philips and we can get them for $224.00 and the cradle is 49.99 all dat long. They even had tsu1000's for 168.00 before x-mass (thet sold out). the reason I went with the Neo is because of the hard buttons. Here's my take;

*Hard buttons, Hard buttons, Hard buttons!

The Neo has 13 hard buttons, all of which can be programed to do other things for each device. With the Neo I dont have to even look at the remote to scroll through my Dvd collection on the Dvd changer - hit play - hit FFWD - hit pause etc. it's all by feel with the hard buttons even in the dark. I dont want to have to look at the back lit screen to find a button just to het rewind or to hit record. Everyone I talk to about the 2000 says the same thing - they miss being able to hold the remoter and controll the system without searching for a button and an lcd screen. The Neo is much easier to hold than the tsu2000 too! I have kids and my wife would hate the 2000.

Fancy pictures? I don't want them.
I don't want my remote to be an address book - I want my address book for that. I can't see paying over 100.00 in addition to the 200.00 I've already shelled out so my remote can store addresses. The pretty pictures - I just want simple, icon style pic's. I don't need deep space shot backgrounds behind custom buttons that make my dvd player pause when I push one? I need a practical, rational, remote that has a good WAF (wife approval rating).

Now...with that said let me just say this. Don't get me wrong about the 2000's. They are neat as hell and no one can say any diff. The 6000's are amazing. But for all practical aplications, the Neo is more than enough for the average home theater and for the extra 110.00 I saved I can get the componant cables I want (which frees up an s-video slot so I can put the PC into the system), get the IR543 so I can do the X-10 thing and still have 50 bucks left over for new dvd's or whatever.

Each to his own - I'll stick with the Neo for now.

I just got an email full of .bmp's that will look great for my interface. I will need to resize them a bit because they are made for the Tsu200 but they should look great on the Neo after resize. I should have my ncf done this weekend hopefully (proving my duties at work and home allow) and then I will uplaod (or email if some one asks) it into this server.

My .ncf will pages for the following devices;
1. RCA home theater tuner
2. Sony 300+1 DVD/CD player
3. Panasonic Showstopper (replayTV)
4. JVC VCR
5. X-10 IR543 lighting controls - if I get the IR543 by then!
6. Toshiba 50" theaterviwew TV

I will go ahead and creat the x10 interface even thought I don't have the IR543 yet.

If anyone want a copy of the ncf when I'm done let me know.
