I love this remote, however, I have a fairly extensive X-10 setup in my house and I can not get this thing to learn the codes. I covered the obvious already. Both the remotes I'm learning off of are sending IR because that is how I am operating all of my equipment at the moment. I have tried the hold down the sending remote button first method and even though the Neo tells me OK like it learned the code, it will not transmit it. If anybody knows the correct method for learning X-10 codes or, better yet, could email me an .ncf with X-10 codes in it I would be most grateful.

Not meant to insult your you, but what are you using to receive the Ir commands and then transmit X10 commands? What type of transceiver?

Hmmm,
I doubt anyone is controlling x-10 with the neo right now. I have found that the Neo simply will not learn a lot codes from various IR emmiting remotes. I have had no sucess in learning certain commands from RCA DSS remotes, X-10 IR, Replay TV, Panasonic DVD commands. I get an instant FAILURE, as soon as I punch the code on the remote. I find this a serious issue, that hopefully can be addressed in a future update.

My NEO controls all my X-10 gear. I can turn any light in the house off/on as well as control the thermostats.

I use a JDS Stargate and an IRXP. Its a simple matter to use canned NEO codes (that don't overlap with other egar in the house). Simply teach an IRXP to recognize these commands and do a little Stargate programming and you're all set.

I've also found that the best way to get the NEO to learn IR sequences is to first press the button to be programmed on the NEO and then hit the button on the remote you're trying to learn from for about 2 seconds. I was having severe learning problems until I started using this method. I keep the remote and the NEO about 2 inches apart on a non reflective surface in fairly low ambient light.

Ignore canoura. You all should know that by now though. Put this back up here because I totally agree with ballison's learning technic. Sometimes even a shorter burst from the OEM. I'm not saying that I learned all my commands, but with this method it was considerably easier.

Aso on the same note, for my RCA dss remotes, I had to press and Hold the RCA remotes button FIRST, the the Neo's button to learn. This worked for most of the RCA codes for the DSS that wasn't already in the databass..

I have gotten the Neo to learn 3 X10 IR Codes. ON, C1 & C7. This has takes about 100 attempts. It works great with the IR543 when you can get it to finally learn the codes. I will post the .ncf if I ever learn the rest. VERY FRUSTRATING!

HOW? I just got a Neo this weekend and can't get it to work at all with my IR543? What did you do, please explain? I love the Neo so far but if I can't get it to control my X10 gear it is going back in favor of a 1000.

Any help you can provide would be great!

Through many repeated tries. I have many pages of blank new buttons. I will learn the code page after page and hit use. And a few times one of the many buttons actually learned the code. I contacted Phillips today and they told me there will be a new firmware update for the Neo in the next week or so. I am going to see if that makes any difference.

Please be more specific? You did what? I really want to make this work so if there is a way I'll wait and try it. Maybe I'll give it another week and wait for the new firmware, I have 25 more days to return it.

Details please???
