When i try to upload a configuration file to my PC to edit it, the file uploads to 3/4 the way ( according to the blue bar indicators) and then stops (the remote beeps twice) and a message appears "error 0074:segger-module:read memory! " I am using windows vista. Any ideas ?
Thanks

I am not certain but the combination of vista and the USB to serial adapter may be a problem for this relatively old remote and software. If you have access to an old pc with a serial port load the software onto that and try. I recently was given a marantz 5200i and try as I might could not get it to work with my vista laptop.

Thanks makitamark
i've loaded the program into an old laptop running XP, with the same USB-Seriel adapter and it works OK
I don't understand why the program running Vista seems to load up to 3/4 the way before showing the error message. If it was incompatible would'nt it crash straight away. I'll just have to keep the old laptop for now.

I think I figured out the Vista connection problem at least on my machine but I suspect this might be applicable to all Vista machines. I had to right click and run as administrator in order to get priority to Com1 or Com2. Otherwise I think Vista blocks it in some way and the program doesn't know how to warn you of this. Also of note I have my User account control setting to off for another programming reason, you might need to do this too but only after you try my first trick. Hope that helps you Dave and all.
