I'm tring to program a channel logo? I've tried to use the info by tkrug?

delay .1 sec
Link to cable 1 - 8

Link to cable 1 - enter
But when I click on create link it tells me (please select a valid button or hard button)
When and if I get past this, there are no numbers in the dialog box, just hard buttons channel up,down ect...
Would someone please explain in detail what I'm doing wrong, and direct me on how to do this right.
