Hello,
does someone have experience if the latest RC3200 Setup SW V1.4.6.0 will run under Windows Vista. Is an update planned or necessary.
Thank you for your help.

For most folks it's not an issue, with the scarcity of serial (COM) ports on newer systems.

I just got the Vista Express Upgrade for my newish laptop. After I install it, I'll be happy to try loading RC3200 Setup (need to modify my NCF, anyway) to see if it runs. However, since the laptop doesn't have a serial port, I won't be able to test communication with the remote.

As far as an update, I wouldn't hold my breath. Marantz no longer sells the RC3200, and Philips stopped development a couple of years ago. The latest updates on Marantz's site carry dates from nearly two years ago (and I think the files may be older than that--I remember the dates changing, but the content staying the same).

If RC3200 Setup doesn't run under WinXP compatibility mode, you'll need to keep a legacy system around to update your remote. I still have a Win2K system that I use for remote updating.

Good luck.

Has anyone had success in using a USB connection for the Pronto or Marantz remotes? I also have to keep an older system around to do my updates.
