I need help, I just got a prontoNEO. Right from day one the claibration was off a little, but I could live with it. I decided to download the firmware update & the NEOedit software so I could begin programming it.

After sucessfully uploading the firmware update & the neoedit configuration changes I made. The remote automatically restarted. Right after the opening screen, it asks you to calibrate the screen. I have tried to get past this screen like 150 times (no joke) but it won't. It keeps on saying that the calibration failed.

I have tried to reset it, cancel the action, press and hold mode button, pressing multiple buttons, shaking it, cursing at it, but nothing will get it out of that programming loop. I have no warranty/recourse from where I bought it.

The Philips Tech people suggested that I post something here and see if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks,

Trevor

I've had my RC3200 get stuck in calibration a few times. What worked for me was to (a) use an object with a smaller point than my finger, such as a PDA stylus; and (b) to select points a bit closer in toward the center and not right on the calibration mark. Sure, after that, the buttons don't line up exactly with where you're pushing, but at least you can use the remote.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

Thanks, I have tried that several times. The calibration was off right from day one. I would have to press about 1/4" below the button I wanted to use. Before this happened I had tried several times to calibrate the screen, without any luck.

Here is what I think is happening. Since the calibration pinpoints are at the top left and bottom right. I believe that because the screen expects me to press 1/4" below the calibration mark on the lower right corner, that would be off the screen? So when I press it anywhere on the screen, the remote thinks it's too high, and fails the calibration.

Does that sound logical? Is there a way to fix it?
